The Battle of Austerlitz was fought on December 2; 1805. Napoléons Grand Armée concluded a brilliant campaign by defeating a combined force of Russian and Austrian troops. Napoleon lured the two allies to their destruction by feigning weakness; then crushing their hasty advance with a left wing envelopment. It is considered Napoléons greatest victory.
